Product identity

The Dell Latitude E5450 is a 14.0 inch mainstream laptop powered by an Intel Core i7-5600U dual-core processor running at 2.60 GHz. It comes with 16 GB of memory and a 512 GB SATA drive, and ships with Windows 10 Pro 64-bit installed. The unit includes an AC power cord and battery. It is suited to office workers and students who need a familiar Windows environment for everyday productivity.

Thermals noise and power

The ultra-low-voltage Core i7-5600U is designed for thin-and-light chassis, so heat output and fan noise stay modest during typical document, web and video tasks. Power draw remains low enough to deliver useful battery life on the included pack, though actual runtime will vary with screen brightness and workload. No discrete graphics are present, which further limits thermal load under normal use.

Build and connectivity

Condition Code B indicates the laptop is used, tested operational and may show minor cosmetic flaws such as small scuffs or scratches. The 14 inch form factor keeps the footprint compact for desk or mobile use. Standard business ports are available for external displays, wired networking and USB peripherals, while the SATA storage interface allows straightforward drive replacement if more capacity is needed later.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 512GB SATA drive in the Latitude E5450, and what step do people get wrong?

Remove the base cover, unscrew the drive caddy, fit the 512GB SATA drive into the caddy, then re-secure the caddy and cover; the step often missed is forgetting to transfer the four mounting screws from the old drive to the new one.

What maintenance or replacement will the 16GB memory need later?

The 16GB memory is soldered and cannot be upgraded; if a fault develops the mainboard must be replaced, so run the built-in diagnostics periodically to catch errors early.

What limit shows up first on the Core i7-5600U under sustained load?

The 2.60GHz dual-core processor hits its thermal ceiling quickly, causing clock-speed throttling that caps performance during long renders or compiles.
