Ready-to-use business laptop

The Dell Latitude E5450 ships new with a 14.0 inch HD display running at 1366 x 768 resolution, an Intel Core i5-5300U dual-core processor at 2.30 GHz with a 2.90 GHz turbo frequency, 16GB of DDR3 memory and a fresh 2TB 2.5 inch SATA SSD. No operating system is installed, so the buyer provides their own Windows or Linux licence.

Ideal for office work and legacy software

This configuration suits users who need a lightweight 14 inch chassis, dual-core performance for everyday productivity and a large SATA solid-state drive for local files. Buyers who require a higher-resolution panel, a touchscreen or a newer processor architecture should consider other models.

Memory fixed at 16GB DDR3

The system board provides two memory slots but the maximum supported capacity is 16GB, so the installed amount cannot be increased. This ceiling decides whether the laptop can handle your workload or whether you need a platform with expandable memory.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 16 GB DDR3 version or look for a larger memory option?

The system ships with 16 GB DDR3 across two slots and the manufacturer lists 16 GB as the maximum supported, so no larger memory configuration exists for this model.

What does the 2.30 GHz base clock mean for everyday workloads once the laptop is running?

The dual-core i5-5300U runs at 2.30 GHz and can boost to 2.90 GHz, giving enough single-thread speed for office apps, web browsing and light multitasking.

How does the 2.5" SATA interface affect the 2 TB SSD's real-world transfer rate?

The 2 TB SSD connects via a 2.5" SATA link, limiting sequential throughput to the SATA bus maximum rather than faster PCIe-based alternatives.
