Latitude E5450 14" HD laptop

The Dell Latitude E5450 is a 14.0-inch HD laptop powered by an Intel Core i7-5600U dual-core processor running at 2.60 GHz with a turbo frequency of 3.20 GHz. It comes with 8GB of DDR3 memory and a new 1TB SSD. Windows 10 Pro 64-bit is pre-installed for immediate use.

SATA SSD and memory limits

The 1TB drive uses a 2.5-inch SATA interface, so storage speed is bound by that standard rather than faster alternatives. The system includes two memory slots and supports a maximum of 16 GB of DDR3, meaning the current 8GB can be doubled but not exceeded.

Display and graphics constraints

The non-touch screen has a 1366 x 768 resolution, which limits on-screen workspace compared to higher-density panels. Integrated Intel HD Graphics 5500 handles basic video and office tasks but is not suited for demanding 3D applications or modern gaming titles.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 8GB memory or the 1TB SSD for my workload?

The 8GB DDR3 handles active tasks while the 1TB 2.5" SATA SSD stores the OS and files; both are fixed in this configuration.

What does the 3.20 GHz turbo frequency deliver in daily use?

The Core i7-5600U lifts from 2.60 GHz to 3.20 GHz for short bursts, speeding single-threaded apps like web browsing or office work.

How does the SATA interface affect the 1TB SSD performance?

The 2.5" SATA connection limits the drive to SATA throughput, so sequential reads and writes stay within that interface ceiling.
