What this laptop delivers

The Dell Latitude E5450 is a 14.0" FHD business laptop running Windows 10 Pro 64-bit. It pairs an Intel Core i7-5600U dual-core processor at 2.60 GHz with 8GB DDR3 memory and a new 2TB SATA SSD. Intel HD Graphics 5500 handles the 1920 x 1080 non-touch display. The system supports up to 16 GB across two memory slots.

Who it suits and who it does not

Mobile professionals needing a reliable 14-inch screen, ample solid-state storage and Windows 10 Pro out of the box will find it ready for office workloads. Buyers who require a dedicated GPU for 3D work, more than 16 GB of RAM, or a touchscreen should look elsewhere. The dual-core CPU also limits heavy multi-threaded tasks such as video encoding.

The spec that decides fit

The 2TB 2.5" SATA SSD is the single component that determines whether this unit matches your storage needs. It provides a large, new solid-state volume for the operating system and data without relying on a mechanical drive. If your workflow demands more capacity or a different drive interface, this laptop will not meet that requirement.

Questions about this item

How fast will the i7-5600U actually run when I am pushing the laptop?

The processor runs at a base 2.60 GHz and can boost up to 3.20 GHz on its two cores when thermal headroom allows.

What does the SATA interface mean for the 2TB SSD speed?

The 2.5-inch drive connects over SATA, so read and write throughput is limited to the SATA bus ceiling.

Can I add more memory later and what module type fits?

Two DDR3 slots are present; 8 GB is installed and the board supports up to 16 GB total.
