Ultrabook for mobile professionals

The Lenovo ThinkPad T480s is a 14-inch ultrabook built around an 8th-generation Intel Core i5-8350U quad-core processor. It ships with 16 GB of DDR4 memory and a 1 TB SSD running Windows 11 Pro. The non-touch IPS display delivers 1920 x 1080 resolution in a thin-bezel chassis. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 handles everyday visual tasks.

Upgrade from dual-core or HDD systems

This unit replaces older dual-core ultrabooks or laptops still running mechanical hard drives. The jump is worth it when you need four cores with eight threads and a 3.60 GHz turbo frequency for heavier multitasking. The 1 TB solid-state drive eliminates storage bottlenecks common with smaller 128 GB or 256 GB configurations. Buyers who want discrete graphics or a touchscreen should look elsewhere.

Standard business-laptop deployment

Installation consists of unboxing, connecting the included OEM AC adapter and completing the Windows 11 Pro out-of-box experience. Driver updates are handled through Lenovo Vantage or Windows Update. The most common issue is forgetting to enable the always-on USB 3.1 Gen1 port in BIOS for charging devices while the system sleeps. Some Grade A units may show light cosmetic scratches.
