Dell Latitude E5470 quad-core laptop

The Dell Latitude E5470 is a 14.0 inch HD laptop powered by an Intel Core i7-6820HQ quad-core processor running at 2.70 GHz with a 3.60 GHz turbo frequency. It comes with 8GB of DDR3 memory and a new 240GB M.2 NVMe PCIe solid-state drive. The system ships without an operating system installed.

Upgrade from dual-core or hard-drive systems

Replacing a dual-core notebook or a mechanical hard-drive machine with this quad-core processor and NVMe storage delivers a clear jump in multi-thread throughput and boot responsiveness. The 240GB NVMe drive and 8GB of DDR3 memory are new components, so the performance gain is immediate and reliable.

Suits mobile workers needing a managed OS

This unit suits IT departments and mobile professionals who deploy their own managed Windows or Linux image on a vetted 14-inch chassis. Buyers who need a pre-installed operating system, a higher-resolution display, discrete graphics, or more than 16GB of memory should consider other configurations.

Questions about this item

What M.2 slot key and length does the Latitude E5470 use for its 240 GB NVMe drive?

The laptop accepts a 2280 M-key M.2 module, which is the form factor of the installed 240 GB NVMe SSD.

Which screw must be removed before the M.2 drive can be lifted, and what error do installers often make?

A single retention screw holds the drive; the common mistake is prying the module up before that screw is fully backed out.

What memory upgrade path does the 8 GB DDR3 configuration allow?

Two SO-DIMM slots support up to 16 GB total, so adding one 8 GB DDR3 module reaches the maximum.
