Dell Latitude E5520 15.6" Business Notebook

The Dell Latitude E5520 is a 15.6-inch business notebook powered by a dual-core Intel Core i5 2nd Gen processor at 2.20GHz with 6 MB L3 cache. It comes with 16 GB DDR3 memory, a 2.5" 1TB SATA hard drive, and a DVD-RW optical drive. Windows 10 Pro 64-bit is pre-installed. Integrated Intel HD 3000 graphics drive the HD+ LED backlit display.

Suits office users needing legacy ports.

This configuration suits professionals who need VGA and HDMI outputs for older projectors, a built-in DVD-RW drive for optical media, and a Trusted Platform Module security chip. Buyers who want more storage speed or a solid-state drive should look at other configurations. The integrated graphics and dual-core processor limit modern gaming and heavy creative workloads.

15.6-inch HD+ LED non-touch display

The 15.6-inch HD+ LED backlit LCD provides a 15.6in HD resolution on a wide-screen panel without touch input. This screen size and resolution define the visual workspace for documents and web browsing. Users requiring higher pixel density, touch interaction, or colour-critical accuracy will need a different display specification.

Questions about this item

How much fan noise and heat does the Intel Core i5 2.20GHz dual-core processor produce when the laptop runs all day?

The 2nd Gen Intel Core i5 with 6 MB L3 cache and integrated Intel HD 3000 graphics is a mobile part designed for typical office workloads, so sustained use keeps fan noise moderate and chassis temperatures manageable on the 15.6" chassis

What must I already own to use the VGA and HDMI video outputs on this Latitude E5520?

You need a VGA cable for legacy projectors or an HDMI cable for modern monitors and TVs; both ports are built into the laptop so no dock or adapter is required

Will my existing DDR3 memory modules work if I want to expand the 16 GB already installed?

The system uses DDR3 SODIMMs and the supplier notes a 16 GB maximum, so the installed 16 GB already fills the supported capacity and no further expansion is possible
