Ready-to-use business laptop

The Dell Latitude E6520 is a 15.6" LED-backlit notebook built around a 2nd Gen Intel Core i7 dual-core processor running at 2.20 GHz. It ships with Windows 10 Pro 64-bit already installed and includes a TPM 1.2 security chip for hardware-based encryption. This configuration suits professionals who need a traditional clamshell with legacy ports and optical media support.

Expansion and connectivity

Integrated Intel HD 3000 graphics drive both the internal HD+ panel and external monitors through VGA and HDMI outputs. A DVD-RW drive handles optical media while the 2.5" 512 GB SATA SSD stores the operating system and applications. The system includes Gigabit Ethernet, Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6205 wireless, Bluetooth, a webcam and a built-in card reader for peripheral flexibility.

Thermals and power in daily use

The mobile QM67 chipset and dual-core CPU keep power draw modest during typical office workloads such as document editing, email and web browsing. Fan noise remains low under light multitasking and the chassis stays comfortable on a desk or lap. Heavier sustained tasks will raise temperatures and fan speed, which is normal for a compact business notebook of this class.

Questions about this item

Does the dual-core Intel Core i7 throttle under sustained load?

The processor is a 2.20 GHz dual-core with 6 MB L3 cache; thermal throttling will depend on the workload and chassis cooling.

What noise or heat should I expect when the laptop runs all day?

The Intel HD 3000 integrated graphics and 2nd Gen Core i7 share the same cooling system, so fan speed and surface temperature rise with continuous CPU or GPU demand.

What must I already own to use the 512 GB SATA SSD?

The drive uses a standard 2.5-inch SATA interface, so any system with a 2.5-inch SATA bay and a SATA data plus power connection can accept it.
