Ultra-portable business laptop

The Dell Latitude E7250 is a 12.5 inch Windows 10 Pro machine built for professionals who travel frequently. Its slim chassis houses a 5th generation Intel Core i5-5300U dual-core processor running at 2.3 GHz with 3 MB L2 cache. Integrated Intel HD Graphics 5500 handles the 1366 x 768 non-touch display and external monitors via HDMI and mini DisplayPort. Three USB 3.0 ports, Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11n wireless and an SD card reader cover connectivity needs.

16 GB DDR3 and 256 GB mSATA SSD

The system ships with 16 GB of DDR3 memory, which matches the maximum supported capacity, leaving no room for future RAM upgrades. The 256 GB mSATA solid-state drive delivers fast boot and application loading while preserving battery life. This storage amount suits office documents, web apps and light local media, but users with large media libraries or virtual machines will need external drives or cloud storage. The integrated graphics share system memory, so heavy 3D work is not practical.

Replaces older ultraportables with mechanical drives

Moving from a traditional hard-drive ultraportable to this SSD-equipped model cuts boot times and improves responsiveness on the move. The jump is worthwhile when daily work involves frequent travel, client presentations over HDMI or DisplayPort, and all-day battery demands. Buyers who need more than 16 GB of RAM, a touchscreen, discrete graphics or larger internal storage should look elsewhere.
