Business laptop for office work

The Dell Latitude E7450 is a 14.0 inch FHD notebook built around an Intel Core i5-5300U dual-core processor running at 2.30 GHz with a turbo frequency of 2.90 GHz. It ships with 16GB DDR3 memory and a new 500GB SSD 2.5 inch SATA drive. No operating system is installed.

Fanless low heat design

Intel HD Graphics 5500 handles the 1920 x 1080 display without a discrete GPU, keeping thermals modest and noise low during typical office tasks. The U-series CPU draws little power, so the chassis stays cool and the fan runs quietly under normal workloads.

Memory fixed at 16GB maximum

Two memory slots are present but the platform maximum is 16 GB, so no further RAM upgrade is possible. Buyers who need more than 16GB of memory should consider a different system.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 2.5" SATA SSD and what step is often missed?

The 500GB SSD fits the 2.5" SATA bay; the step often missed is securing the drive with the caddy screws so it does not shift.

What maintenance or replacement will the memory need later?

The 16GB DDR3 is at the 16 GB maximum across two slots, so any future upgrade requires replacing both modules rather than adding.

What limit appears first under sustained load on the i5-5300U?

The dual-core i5-5300U with Intel HD Graphics 5500 will hit thermal throttling before the 500GB SATA SSD saturates its interface.
