Built for mobile professionals

The Dell Latitude E7450 is a 14.0" HD laptop powered by an Intel Core i5-5300U dual-core processor running at 2.30 GHz with a 2.90 GHz turbo frequency. It ships with 16GB DDR3 memory and a new 240GB 2.5" SATA SSD. Windows 10 Pro 64-bit is pre-installed for immediate deployment.

Thermals and power in daily use

The ultra-low-voltage i5-5300U keeps heat output modest during typical office workloads such as document editing, web browsing and video conferencing. Fan noise remains unobtrusive in quiet rooms and the efficient architecture helps extend battery runtime on a single charge.

Upgrade path and fit

This unit replaces older 1366 x 768 business notebooks limited to 8GB RAM and mechanical drives. The jump is worthwhile for users who need the full 16GB ceiling and solid-state responsiveness without moving to a larger chassis. Buyers who want more storage or a higher-resolution panel should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 2.5" SATA SSD in the Latitude E7450, and what step do people often miss?

Remove the base cover, slide the drive into the SATA connector, secure it with the caddy screw, then reconnect the battery cable before closing the case — skipping the battery reconnect is the common oversight.

Which component in this E7450 will likely need replacement first under normal use?

The 240GB SATA SSD has a finite write endurance; after heavy workloads it will wear out before the soldered 16GB DDR3 or the Intel HD Graphics 5500.

What thermal limit appears first during sustained loads on the Core i5-5300U?

The dual-core processor hits its 2.90 GHz turbo ceiling and then throttles due to the compact 14.0" chassis cooling capacity.
