ThinkPad T450 for mobile professionals

This 14.0-inch Lenovo ThinkPad T450 runs Windows 10 Pro on an Intel Core i5-5300U processor at 2.30 GHz with 8GB DDR3L memory. A 256GB SATA SSD provides fast boot and file access without moving parts. The non-touch 1600 display suits office workflows and travel use.

Sustained workload behaviour

The dual-core processor maintains its 2.30 GHz base speed during extended document editing, web sessions and video playback. Integrated graphics handle desktop composition and 1080p streaming without thermal throttling. The 256GB SSD keeps application load times consistent even after hours of continuous operation.

Build quality and daily connectivity

Grade C condition means visible scratches, small dents or cracks and up to two dead pixels, yet the chassis remains fully functional. Included AC adapter powers the lithium-ion battery for untethered work. Integrated audio ports and internal speakers support calls, while the webcam and Wi-Fi enable remote meetings. Bluetooth and touchscreen are absent, so users needing those features should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

How hot and loud does the Core i5-5300U get during all-day use?

The 2.30 GHz dual-core chip is a 15 W part, so fan noise stays low and surface temperatures remain comfortable for typical office workloads.

Which cables or peripherals are required that do not come in the box?

Only the included AC adapter is essential; the laptop already has 8 GB DDR3L, a 256 GB SATA SSD, Wi-Fi and a webcam, so no extra parts are needed to start working.

Can I keep using my older VGA monitor and USB 2.0 dock with this T450?

Yes — the Mini DisplayPort drives legacy screens with a passive adapter, and all USB ports are backward-compatible with USB 2.0 devices.
