Best for portable office work and OS flexibility

This laptop suits professionals who need a lightweight 14-inch device for document editing, web browsing and video calls using the integrated webcam. The 16 GB memory ceiling supports moderate multitasking. Buyers who want more storage capacity, a touchscreen, or a pre-installed operating system should look elsewhere.

16 GB soldered memory limit

The memory specification lists 16 GB DDR3 with two slots and a maximum supported capacity of 16 GB. This confirms the RAM cannot be upgraded beyond the factory configuration. Verify that this fixed capacity meets your workload requirements before purchase.

Questions about this item

Will the i5-5300U throttle under sustained load because of its 2.90 GHz turbo limit?

The dual-core i5-5300U runs at 2.30 GHz base and can reach 2.90 GHz turbo; sustained workloads will sit at or below the base clock once thermal limits are reached.

How loud and hot does the E7450 get when it runs all day on the 14.0" FHD panel?

The 14.0" FHD display and Intel HD Graphics 5500 draw modest power, so fan noise stays low and chassis temperatures remain comfortable during extended office use.

Do I need to supply my own operating system because the laptop ships with No Operating System?

Yes, the unit arrives with no OS installed; you must provide and install Windows or another operating system yourself.
