Latitude E7450 14.0" FHD laptop

The Dell Latitude E7450 is a 14.0-inch business laptop with a 1920 x 1080 non-touch display. It ships with Windows 10 Pro 64-bit and suits mobile professionals who need a compact, ready-to-use system. The black chassis houses a dual-core Intel Core i5-5200U running at 2.20 GHz with a 2.70 GHz turbo frequency.

16GB DDR3 at 16 GB maximum

Memory is fixed at 16GB DDR3 across two slots, and the platform maximum is also 16 GB. Buyers who need more memory than this cannot upgrade this model. The integrated Intel HD Graphics 5500 shares system RAM, so the full 16GB remains available for applications and graphics.

1TB 2.5" SATA SSD under load

Storage is a new 1TB SSD using the 2.5-inch SATA interface. Sustained write speeds follow the SATA bus limits rather than short burst peaks. The drive has no mechanical platters, so thermal throttling from a spinning disk does not occur. Buyers needing faster sustained throughput would need a different interface not present here.

Questions about this item

How does the Core i5-5200U's 2.20 GHz base clock and 2.70 GHz turbo affect everyday performance?

The dual-core processor runs at 2.20 GHz normally and can boost to 2.70 GHz for short bursts, giving smooth Windows 10 Pro operation and responsive multitasking with the 16 GB DDR3 memory.

What does the 2.5-inch SATA interface mean for the 1 TB SSD's real-world speed?

The 1 TB SSD connects over a standard SATA link, so sequential reads and writes are limited to the SATA bus ceiling while still delivering much faster boot and application loads than a mechanical drive.

Will the 14.0-inch FHD screen and 1 TB 2.5-inch SSD fit in a standard 14-inch laptop bag or sleeve?

The 14.0-inch 1920 x 1080 non-touch display and the 2.5-inch SATA SSD are built into the standard Latitude E7450 chassis, so any sleeve or bag sized for a 14-inch ultrabook will accommodate it.
