Latitude E7470 14-inch FHD laptop

The Dell Latitude E7470 is a 14.0-inch business laptop with a full-HD 1920 x 1080 display. It runs on an Intel Core i7-6600U dual-core processor with a base frequency of 2.60 GHz and a turbo frequency of 3.40 GHz. The system includes 8GB of DDR4 memory and a new 240GB SATA solid-state drive. Windows 10 Pro 64-bit comes pre-installed.

Suitable for office work and mobile professionals

This unit suits users who need a compact Windows 10 laptop with a 1080p screen, integrated Intel HD Graphics 520 and 8GB of RAM for typical productivity tasks. The two memory slots support a maximum of 16GB, so buyers who need more memory headroom should look at a model with higher capacity or more slots. Buyers who require a dedicated graphics processor, a touchscreen panel or a larger storage volume should consider a different configuration.

240GB SATA SSD storage spec

The single specification that decides fit is the 240GB 2.5-inch SATA solid-state drive. It provides solid-state speed for the operating system and applications but offers only 240GB of total capacity. Verify that this capacity meets your workload before purchase.

Questions about this item

Does the 2.5-inch SATA interface limit the 240GB SSD to SATA speeds?

Yes, the 240GB SSD uses a 2.5-inch SATA connection, so its throughput is capped at the SATA interface limit.

What drive bay size and connector does the laptop accept for storage upgrades?

It takes a 2.5-inch SATA drive in the internal bay, matching the installed 240GB SSD form factor.

How is the 240GB SSD installed, and what step is often missed?

The SSD is already fitted in the 2.5-inch bay; if replacing it, secure the drive with the caddy screws and reconnect the SATA cable firmly.
