Latitude E7470 14" FHD business laptop

The Dell Latitude E7470 is a 14.0 inch FHD laptop powered by an Intel Core i7-6600U dual-core processor running at 2.60 GHz with a turbo frequency of 3.40 GHz. It comes with 16GB of DDR4 memory and a new 1TB SSD using a 2.5 inch SATA interface. Windows 10 Home 64-bit is pre-installed.

Replaces older dual-core ultrabooks

This unit upgrades from earlier machines limited to 8GB of memory and mechanical hard drives. The jump is worthwhile when you need the full 16GB DDR4 ceiling and a fresh 1TB SSD for faster boot times and application loading. Integrated Intel HD Graphics 520 handles standard office workloads and video playback.

Check your workflow fits the fixed specification

Memory is maxed at 16GB with two slots populated, so no further RAM expansion is possible. The 14.0 inch non-touch display stays at 1920 x 1080 resolution. Verify that Windows 10 Home meets your software requirements and that the SATA storage form factor matches any future upgrade plans.

Questions about this item

Will the 2.5" SATA SSD fit the internal drive bay?

The 1 TB SSD uses a 2.5 inch SATA form factor that matches the drive bay in this Latitude E7470.

What is the correct order for installing Windows 10 Home 64-bit on the new SSD?

Boot from the Windows 10 Home installation media, select the 1 TB SSD as the target, and let setup complete before installing drivers.

Can the 16 GB DDR4 memory be upgraded later?

Both memory slots are populated to reach the 16 GB maximum, so any increase would require replacing the existing modules.
