Core specifications

The Dell Latitude E7470 is a 14.0" HD laptop powered by an Intel Core i7-6600U dual-core processor running at 2.60 GHz with a 3.40 GHz turbo frequency. It includes 8GB DDR4 memory and a new 1TB 2.5" SATA SSD. The 1366 x 768 non-touch display is driven by Intel HD Graphics 520. No operating system is installed.

Build integration

The system uses standard 2.5" SATA storage and two DDR4 slots supporting up to 16 GB total memory, allowing straightforward upgrades. Integrated graphics eliminate the need for a discrete GPU and its associated power draw. The compact 14" form factor fits common bags and docks. Buyers who need a pre-installed OS or additional drive bays must look elsewhere.

Sustained workload behaviour

The U-series CPU balances performance with thermal limits during extended sessions. Intel HD Graphics 520 handles typical productivity and video playback without a dedicated fan curve for a separate GPU. The SSD provides consistent read and write speeds for long file transfers. Users requiring discrete graphics memory or higher sustained clock speeds should consider other form factors.

Questions about this item

Does the dual-core i7-6600U throttle under continuous heavy workloads?

The 2.60 GHz base and 3.40 GHz turbo speeds run inside a thin 14.0" chassis; sustained loads will trigger thermal limits before the processor can hold its top frequency for long.

How loud and hot does the E7470 get when left running all day?

Intel HD Graphics 520 and the low-power CPU share a compact fan; expect noticeable fan noise and warm keyboard deck during extended use.

The laptop ships with no operating system — what must I provide to start using it?

You need a Windows or Linux installation media and a licence key; the 1TB SATA SSD is blank and ready for a fresh OS install.
