Latitude E7470 14″ HD+ ultrabook

The Dell Latitude E7470 is a 14.0″ business ultrabook powered by a dual-core Intel Core i7-6650U at 2.20 GHz with a 3.40 GHz turbo. It comes with 16 GB of DDR4 memory and a new 2 TB M.2 NVMe PCIe drive. The HD+ panel shows 1600 x 900 pixels and is non-touch. No operating system is installed.

Check memory ceiling and OS plan

The system has two DDR4 slots but the maximum supported memory is 16 GB, so no further RAM upgrades are possible. The storage uses an M.2 NVMe PCIe interface; verify that any replacement drive matches this protocol. Because the laptop ships without an operating system, you must acquire and install Windows or another OS yourself.

Integrated graphics and single-drive layout

Intel Iris Graphics 540 handles display output and light GPU tasks without a discrete card, freeing internal space and power budget. The single 2 TB NVMe drive occupies the sole M.2 slot, so additional internal storage would require an external solution. Bluetooth and a webcam are built in for peripheral and conferencing needs.

Questions about this item

Does the box include an operating system or must I supply my own?

The laptop ships with no operating system installed so you will need to provide and install Windows or another OS yourself.

Is the 16 GB DDR4 memory expandable beyond the factory configuration?

The board has two slots but the maximum supported capacity is 16 GB so the fitted memory cannot be increased.

How does the 2 TB NVMe drive perform in everyday use compared with a traditional hard disk?

The PCIe NVMe SSD delivers much faster boot and application load times than a mechanical drive while providing 2 TB of storage space.
