Latitude E7470 14-inch business laptop

The Dell Latitude E7470 is a 14.0-inch business laptop with a 1600 x 900 HD+ non-touch display. It runs on an Intel Core i7-6650U dual-core processor with a base speed of 2.20 GHz and a turbo frequency of 3.40 GHz. The system includes 16GB of DDR4 memory and a new 128GB 2.5-inch SATA SSD with Windows 10 Home 64-bit pre-installed.

Check memory ceiling and storage bay

This unit has two memory slots but the maximum supported capacity is 16GB, so no RAM upgrade is possible beyond the installed amount. The storage uses a 2.5-inch SATA interface; verify your existing drive caddy or bracket fits this form factor before ordering. The operating system is the 64-bit edition of Windows 10 Home.

Replaces older dual-core ultraportables

The combination of 16GB DDR4 and a fresh 128GB SSD makes this a direct step up from earlier ultraportables limited to 8GB memory or mechanical hard drives. The jump is worth it when you need responsive multitasking and faster boot times in a compact 14-inch chassis without moving to a newer generation platform.

Questions about this item

Does the 14.0" HD+ laptop ship with the 128GB SSD and 16GB DDR4 already installed or do I need to add them myself?

The 128GB 2.5" SATA SSD and 16GB DDR4 are factory-fitted, so the system arrives ready to run Windows 10 Home 64-bit without extra parts.

The spec lists 16GB DDR4 and a maximum of 16 GB — does that mean both slots are full or can I still upgrade one?

Both memory slots are populated to reach the 16 GB limit, so no further RAM upgrade is possible without removing existing modules.

In everyday use, what does the Intel Iris Graphics 540 with the i7-6650U at 2.20 GHz base and 3.40 GHz turbo actually deliver?

The integrated Iris 540 handles office apps, 1600 x 900 video playback and light photo editing smoothly; heavier 3D tasks will be limited by the shared-memory design.
