Target device

The Dell Latitude E7470 is a 14-inch business laptop with an HD+ display running at 1600 x 900 resolution. It suits professionals who need a compact machine for office applications, web browsing and remote management tasks. The non-touch screen keeps weight down and battery life stable for mobile workdays.

Upgrade path

This unit replaces older dual-core systems limited to 8 GB of memory or mechanical hard drives. The jump is worth it when moving from a spinning disk to the NEW 128GB SSD and the full 16 GB DDR4 ceiling, because the board maxes out at 16 GB and cannot take more.

Installation notes

The 2.5-inch SATA drive bay is user-accessible, so swapping the SSD requires only a small screwdriver and a few minutes. The memory slots are also reachable, though the 16 GB limit means no further RAM expansion is possible. Buyers must supply and install their own operating system, as none is included.

Questions about this item

Will a 2.5" SATA drive fit the 128GB SSD bay?

Yes, the 128GB SSD uses a 2.5" SATA form factor, so any 2.5" SATA drive will fit the same bay.

How do I install an operating system when none is included?

Create a bootable USB installer for Windows or Linux, boot from it, and install to the 128GB SSD; the BIOS will detect the SATA drive automatically.

Can I upgrade the 16GB DDR4 memory later?

The system has two DDR4 slots and already reaches the 16GB maximum, so no further memory upgrade is possible.
