Purpose-built ultraportable

The Latitude E7470 is a 14.0-inch business laptop aimed at professionals who need a lightweight Windows 10 machine for daily office tasks. Its dual-core i5-6300U processor runs at 2.40 GHz with a 3.00 GHz turbo, providing enough speed for document work, web browsing and video calls.

Memory and storage headroom

The system ships with 8 GB of DDR4 memory and a new 1 TB M.2 NVMe PCIe solid-state drive. Two memory slots allow an upgrade to 16 GB maximum, giving headroom for heavier multitasking. The 1366 x 768 HD panel and Intel HD Graphics 520 handle standard productivity but are not suited to colour-critical design or modern gaming.

Deciding specification

The 1 TB NVMe drive is the single spec that determines fit: buyers who need large local storage in a thin chassis get it here, while anyone requiring a higher-resolution display, dedicated graphics or more than 16 GB of RAM should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

Will the 14.0" HD panel and Intel HD Graphics 520 drive my older 1366 x 768 external monitor without scaling issues?

The built-in display runs at 1366 x 768, so an external monitor at the same resolution will map 1:1 with no scaling required; Intel HD Graphics 520 supports that resolution over the available video output.

How can I confirm the 1TB M.2 NVMe PCIe drive and 8GB DDR4 are recognised after first boot?

Open Task Manager > Performance tab — the SSD should show 1TB capacity and NVMe protocol, while memory should read 8GB DDR4 with one of two slots populated.

Does the box include a power adapter for the 2.40 GHz i5-6300U system, or must I source one separately?

A compatible Dell power adapter is included in the box; no separate purchase is needed to run the laptop.
