Dell Latitude E7470 14" HD laptop

The Dell Latitude E7470 is a 14-inch HD laptop powered by an Intel Core i7-6650U dual-core processor running at 2.20 GHz with a 3.40 GHz turbo frequency. It comes with 8GB of DDR4 memory and a new 2TB M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD. The system ships without an operating system installed.

Best for portable office work and OS flexibility

This configuration suits professionals who need a compact 1366 x 768 display for document work and web browsing, plus the freedom to install their preferred Windows or Linux distribution. The 8GB memory limit and integrated Intel Iris Graphics 540 make it unsuitable for buyers who need more RAM for virtualisation or discrete graphics for 3D rendering.

16 GB maximum memory capacity

The laptop has two memory slots and supports a maximum of 16 GB of DDR4 RAM. Buyers planning to run memory-intensive applications or multiple virtual machines should verify that this ceiling meets their workload before purchasing.

Questions about this item

What operating system must I supply myself before this Latitude E7470 will boot?

The laptop ships with no operating system installed, so you need to provide and install your own Windows or Linux licence before it can start up.

Will the integrated Intel Iris Graphics 540 drive my existing DisplayPort monitor at 1366 x 768 without a discrete GPU?

Yes, the built‑in Iris Graphics 540 supports that resolution over DisplayPort, so an older monitor will work without needing a separate graphics card.

How can I confirm the new 2 TB M.2 NVMe SSD is recognised and running at full speed after I install the OS?

Open the BIOS or the operating system’s disk utility and verify the drive appears as a 2 TB NVMe device with a PCIe link.
