Dell Latitude E7470 14-inch HD laptop

The Dell Latitude E7470 is a 14.0-inch HD laptop powered by an Intel Core i7-6600U dual-core processor running at 2.60 GHz with a turbo frequency of 3.40 GHz. It includes 8GB of DDR4 memory and a new 240GB M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD. Windows 10 Home 64-bit comes pre-installed on the 1366 x 768 non-touch display.

Buyers needing integrated graphics only

This laptop suits office workers and students who rely on the integrated Intel HD Graphics 520 for standard productivity, web browsing and video playback on the 14.0-inch screen. It is not for buyers who want a discrete GPU for gaming, 3D rendering or GPU-accelerated workloads. The dual-core CPU and 8GB of RAM also limit heavy multitasking or virtualisation scenarios.

Single M.2 NVMe slot with 16 GB memory ceiling

The storage configuration provides one M.2 NVMe PCIe slot occupied by the 240GB SSD, so adding a second drive is not possible without replacing the existing module. System memory uses two DDR4 slots with a maximum supported capacity of 16 GB, meaning the current 8GB can be doubled but cannot exceed that limit.

Questions about this item

How fast is the Core i7-6600U in daily use with its 3.40 GHz turbo?

The dual-core processor reaches 3.40 GHz turbo for short bursts, keeping web browsing and office apps responsive while the 8GB DDR4 handles multitasking.

What does the M.2 NVMe PCIe label on the 240GB drive tell me about speed?

The SSD connects via PCIe lanes using the NVMe protocol, giving much faster boot and application loading than older interfaces.

Can I add more memory later and what is the physical limit?

Two DDR4 slots are fitted and the board supports up to 16GB total, so an 8GB module can be added to the existing 8GB.
