Dell Latitude E7470 laptop

The Dell Latitude E7470 is a 14.0 inch business laptop with a 1366 x 768 HD display. It runs on an Intel Core i7-6600U dual-core processor with a turbo frequency of 3.40 GHz. The system includes 16GB DDR4 memory and a 500GB M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD. Windows 10 Pro 64-bit comes pre-installed.

Build integration and expandability

The 16GB DDR4 memory reaches the maximum supported capacity across two slots. The M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD occupies the primary storage slot and leaves no 2.5 inch bay for an additional hard drive. Integrated Intel HD Graphics 520 handles display output without a discrete graphics card. Bluetooth and a webcam are built in for peripheral and conferencing needs.

Sustained-load behaviour

The dual-core i7-6600U maintains its 3.40 GHz turbo under short bursts but will throttle during extended multi-threaded workloads. Intel HD Graphics 520 is suited to desktop productivity and video playback rather than continuous 3D rendering. The 500GB NVMe SSD delivers consistent read and write speeds for OS and application streaming. Thermal management is designed for typical office duty cycles.

Questions about this item

Will the 16 GB DDR4 memory ceiling slow the Core i7-6600U during long workloads?

The system ships with 16 GB DDR4, which is also the maximum supported, so memory capacity cannot be expanded beyond that point.

How loud or hot does the laptop get when the Intel HD Graphics 520 and CPU run continuously?

The dual-core i7-6600U with Intel HD Graphics 520 shares a compact thermal design; sustained loads will raise fan speed and surface temperature.

Which peripherals or cables are required to use the 500 GB M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD and 14.0" 1366 x 768 display?

The SSD and display are built in; only the included power adapter is needed to start working.
