Dell Latitude L400 LCD Ribbon Cable

This new LCD ribbon video cable is a replacement part for 12.1 inch displays in Dell Latitude L400 and Inspiron 2100 laptops. It carries the Dell part number 60KWK and connects the screen panel to the motherboard. The cable is sold individually for component-level repair.

For owners fixing specific screen faults

The cable suits users experiencing lines, faded areas or distorted images on the 12.1 inch LCD where the ribbon is the root cause. It will not help if the panel itself, the inverter or the graphics subsystem has failed. Buyers needing a different screen size or a cable for another laptop model must source the correct part instead.

Fits inside the 12.1 inch display assembly

Installation requires partial disassembly of the laptop lid to access the ribbon routing and connectors. Replacing the cable frees the user from purchasing a complete LCD module when only the interconnect is damaged. Verify the Dell part number and connector layout against the original before fitting.

Questions about this item

Which Dell part number must the laptop already show for this 60KWK cable to fit?

The laptop must carry Dell part number 60KWK on the original cable or service tag for this replacement to match the 12.1" panel.

Will the cable seat in an older Latitude L400 chassis that still uses the factory hinge brackets?

Yes, the ribbon is built for the Latitude L400 and Inspiron 2100 hinge assembly, so it routes through the original brackets without modification.

After fitting the cable, what display symptom confirms the repair worked?

A stable 12.1" image with no lines, fading or distortion shows the ribbon is seated and the panel is receiving a clean signal.
