Compact business desktop

The Dell OptiPlex 7040 SFF is a refurbished small-form-factor desktop built around an Intel Core i5-6500 running at 3.2 GHz with 8 GB of DDR4 memory and a 480 GB SSD. It ships with Windows 10 Pro 64-bit and integrated Intel HD Graphics 530. The compact chassis suits office desks where space is limited and a separate monitor will be used.

Straightforward setup with integrated graphics

Windows 10 Pro is pre-installed so the system reaches the desktop on first boot. The integrated graphics drive video through the onboard DisplayPort and HDMI outputs without a discrete card to seat. The only physical step is connecting a USB keyboard and the included DVD-ROM drive is ready for legacy media. No wireless hardware is present so a wired network or USB adapter is required for internet access.

Buyers needing Wi-Fi or discrete graphics should

The specification lists no WLAN capability, so environments without Ethernet cabling will need a separate adapter. The small-form-factor case restricts add-in cards to low-profile dimensions and the power supply may not support high-wattage GPUs. Organisations requiring more than 8 GB of RAM or multiple internal drives should verify the motherboard limits before ordering.
