Refurbished 14-inch business laptop

This refurbished Dell 7480 is a 14.0-inch work machine with a gray chassis. It runs Windows 10 on an Intel Core i5-6300U dual-core processor at 2.4 GHz with 16 GB memory and a 256 GB SSD. The non-touch display has a 1366 x 768 resolution and integrated Intel HD Graphics. No webcam or optical drive is included.

Sustained load on integrated graphics

The dual-core U-series chip and integrated graphics share thermal headroom, so extended compiles or heavy multitasking will throttle clock speeds to stay within the cooling limits. Fan noise rises noticeably under continuous load while the 16 GB memory keeps paging to a minimum. Battery runtime drops sharply when both cores and the GPU are driven hard for long periods.

B-grade chassis with core peripherals only

The unit ships as a B-grade refurb with the laptop, battery and AC adaptor in the box. Absence of a webcam means video calls require an external camera, and the missing optical drive removes local media installation. Integrated speakers handle basic audio, while the gray case shows cosmetic wear consistent with the refurbished condition.

Questions about this item

How warm or loud does the Core i5-6300U get when the 7480 runs a full workload all day?

The dual-core 2.4 GHz processor uses Intel HD Graphics and a 14.0" non-touch display, a combination that keeps heat and fan noise moderate during extended business use.

Which cables or peripherals do I need to supply myself because the 7480 ships without them?

The package includes the laptop, battery and AC adaptor only; there is no optical drive, webcam or touchscreen, so any external DVD drive, camera or touch input must be provided separately.

Will the 1366 x 768 screen and integrated graphics work with an older VGA projector I still use?

The 7480 relies on Intel HD Graphics driving a 14.0" Wide XGA panel at 1366 x 768; connecting legacy VGA equipment requires an active adapter that the buyer must source.
