Business ultraportable for mobile professionals

The Lenovo ThinkPad T460s is a 14.0" laptop built for work and business users who need a lightweight Windows 10 Pro machine. It ships with an Intel Core i5 2.40GHz processor, 8GB of memory and a 256GB SSD. The unit includes a webcam, wireless connectivity, an AC adapter and a functional battery.

Sustained office workloads on a dual-core U-series

The i5-6300U runs at a 2.40GHz base frequency inside a thin chassis, so clock speeds will throttle under prolonged heavy compute tasks such as video rendering or large compilations. For typical business applications — email, documents, browser tabs and video calls — performance remains consistent. Buyers who need uninterrupted multi-core throughput for hours should consider a thicker workstation-class device.

B-grade cosmetics with full function and standard

Each unit passes rigorous functionality testing but shows signs of use such as minor dings, dents, scuffs or slightly worn keycaps; screen imperfections and faint speaker static may also be present. The laptop still provides the usual ThinkPad port selection for daily docking and peripheral connection. Buyers who require pristine aesthetics or a flawless display should look at higher-grade stock.

Questions about this item

How noisy or hot does the 14.0" ThinkPad T460s get when running all day on the i5 2.40GHz processor?

The i5 2.40GHz chip is a low-power design; under typical office workloads the fan stays quiet and the chassis remains comfortable to touch for extended sessions.

What must I already own for the 256GB SSD and 8GB memory configuration to work out of the box?

Nothing extra is required — the laptop ships with Windows 10 Pro installed, a functional battery and an AC adapter included.

Will the 14.0" T460s drive my older 1080p monitor and USB 3.0 dock without adapters?

Yes — the side ports include full-size video output and USB 3.0, so a 1080p display and USB 3.0 dock connect directly.
