Dell OptiPlex 7010 Mini Tower Desktop

The Dell OptiPlex 7010 Mini Tower is a desktop computer built around a 3rd Gen Intel Quad Core i7-3770 processor running at 3.40 GHz. It comes with 32 GB of DDR3 memory, a 256 GB solid state drive and a 2 TB hard drive. Windows 10 Pro is pre-installed along with a DVD±RW drive and integrated Intel Graphics 4000.

Suited for general office work and home use

This system suits buyers who need a ready-to-use desktop with ample RAM and dual storage for documents, applications and media. The included USB keyboard and mouse let you start working immediately. Buyers who require a dedicated graphics card for modern gaming or intensive 3D rendering should look at a different machine. Those who need a small form factor chassis or support for newer memory standards will also need another platform.

32 GB DDR3 memory capacity

The 32 GB DDR3 configuration represents the maximum memory this model supports, so the system arrives fully populated for heavy multitasking. The 240-pin DIMM slots are occupied, leaving no room for further upgrades without removing existing modules. If your workload demands more than 32 GB of RAM, this desktop cannot meet that requirement.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the 32GB DDR3 configuration or a smaller 8GB or 16GB option?

The 32GB DDR3 configuration is the maximum fitted to this unit; it leaves no spare slots for future upgrades but gives the fullest multitasking headroom for Windows 10 Pro.

What does the i7-3770 3.4GHz quad-core processor deliver in daily use?

Four cores at 3.4GHz with Turbo up to 3.90GHz handle office suites, web browsing and light creative work smoothly; the integrated Intel HD Graphics 4000 drives up to three displays.

How fast is the Gigabit Ethernet port in practice?

The Gigabit Ethernet port provides a wired network link rated at 1 Gbps, so file transfers across a local network typically reach the upper range of that connection.
