Small-form-factor business desktop with a quad-core 3.4 GHz processor, 64 GB DDR4 memory and a 256 GB NVMe drive, running Windows 10 Pro
This DELL OptiPlex 7040 Small Form Factor desktop is built for office and home computing. It runs on a 6th generation Intel Core i7-6700 quad-core processor at 3.4 GHz with 8 MB L3 cache. The system includes 64GB DDR4 memory and a 256GB NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD. Integrated Intel HD 530 graphics drive the display outputs.
The 64GB DDR4 memory provides ample headroom for multitasking, virtual machines and large datasets. The 256GB NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD delivers quick boot times and fast data transfers for the operating system and active projects. Storage space can become tight for users keeping extensive media libraries or large local databases on the primary drive.
Video output relies on two DisplayPort connectors and one HDMI port; there are no VGA or DVI ports so older monitors require an adapter. Integrated Intel HD 530 graphics suit general productivity but are not intended for demanding 3D workloads. The Gigabit Ethernet port tops out at 1000 Mbps wired throughput. Six USB 3.0 and four USB 2.0 ports handle peripheral connectivity.
