Dell OptiPlex 790 Mini Tower

This Dell OptiPlex 790 Mini Tower desktop computer runs on an Intel 2nd Gen i5-2400 quad-core processor at 3.10 GHz with 4 GB of DDR3 memory. It combines a 128 GB solid-state drive and a 2 TB hard drive for dual storage. Windows 10 Pro 64-bit is installed, and a USB keyboard is included.

Suits general office and home tasks.

The system handles web browsing, document editing and video playback using the integrated Intel HD Graphics 2000. Buyers who need more than 4 GB of memory for multitasking or who require a dedicated graphics card for 3D applications should look at a different configuration.

265 W power supply limits upgrades

The 265 W unit powers the current components but leaves little headroom for a discrete graphics card or additional drives. Verify that any planned expansion stays within this power budget before purchase.

Questions about this item

What is the 265 W power supply limit for sustained loads?

The 265 W PSU caps total system draw; sustained heavy CPU and GPU work will hit that ceiling before thermals do.

How loud and hot does the Mini Tower get when running all day?

The 265 W supply and integrated Intel HD Graphics 2000 keep heat modest; the single chassis fan stays at low RPM during typical office workloads.

Which display cables or adapters must I already own to connect a monitor?

The integrated graphics provide VGA and DisplayPort outputs; have the matching cable or an active adapter for HDMI or DVI monitors.
