Dell OptiPlex 790 Mini Tower

This desktop computer is a Dell OptiPlex 790 Mini Tower equipped with an Intel Quad-Core i7-2600 processor running at 3.40GHz. It includes 8GB of DDR3 RAM and a 1TB 2.5-inch Solid State Drive. The system ships with Windows 10 Pro 64-bit pre-installed and comes bundled with a USB keyboard and mouse.

Suitable for home office or student tasks

This configuration suits buyers who need a ready-to-use desktop for everyday productivity, web browsing, and office applications. The integrated Gigabit Ethernet and included WiFi USB adapter provide network connectivity. It is not for buyers who want more storage than 1TB, builders who need a second graphics card, or users requiring newer DDR memory generations.

Straightforward setup with included peripherals

The Mini Tower chassis allows access to internal components for upgrades such as expanding RAM up to 16GB using DDR3 DIMM 240-pin slots. Installation is simplified by the pre-installed operating system and bundled USB keyboard and mouse. What usually goes wrong is mismatching memory types; only DDR3 modules are compatible with this platform.

Questions about this item

Does the OptiPlex 790 Mini Tower come with a monitor, or must I supply my own?

The listing states the monitor is not included, so you will need to provide a display with a compatible video input.

Can I keep using my existing DDR3 memory modules if I want to expand the 8 GB already installed?

Yes, the system uses DDR3 desktop RAM in 240-pin DIMM slots, so compatible modules can be added up to the 16 GB maximum.

How can I verify the Intel i7-2600 is reaching its 3.90 GHz turbo speed after setup?

Open Task Manager in Windows 10 Pro, select the Performance tab, and watch the CPU frequency while running a demanding single-threaded task.
