OptiPlex 9010 Mini Tower desktop

This Dell OptiPlex 9010 Mini Tower desktop runs a 3.20 GHz Intel quad-core processor with 32 GB of DDR3 memory. It includes a 128 GB 2.5-inch SSD and a 1 TB 3.5-inch hard drive for combined speed and capacity. Windows 10 Pro 64-bit is pre-installed with a Certificate of Authenticity. The system suits home-office workers and students needing reliable everyday performance.

Build integration: power, expansion and connectivity

The Mini Tower chassis fits standard desktop spaces and provides internal bays for the included drives. Gigabit Ethernet handles wired network links while a USB wireless dongle adds Wi-Fi capability. A DVD±RW drive reads and writes optical media for software installation or archiving. USB keyboard and mouse are included so the PC is ready to use immediately. Buyers who need more internal drive bays or a smaller form factor should consider other configurations.

Bundled accessories and software impact

Windows 10 Pro delivers business-grade features such as BitLocker and Remote Desktop out of the box. The supplied USB keyboard and mouse remove the need for separate peripheral purchases. The DVD±RW drive enables legacy media access without an external unit. Users requiring a modern wireless standard or Bluetooth will need to add their own adapter.

Questions about this item

What limits sustained performance of the Intel Core i5-3470 3.20 GHz processor?

The quad-core i5-3470 runs at a 3.20 GHz base clock with a 3.60 GHz turbo boost; sustained loads are limited by its thermal design power and the Mini Tower cooler capacity.

How loud and hot does the Mini Tower get when running all day?

The Mini Tower chassis relies on a single rear fan and CPU heatsink; continuous operation produces audible fan noise and warm exhaust air from the back panel.

Which display cable do I need to connect a monitor to this OptiPlex 9010?

Video output comes from the motherboard VGA or DisplayPort connectors; you must supply a compatible VGA or DisplayPort cable for your monitor.
