OptiPlex 9010 Mini Tower Desktop

The Dell OptiPlex 9010 Mini Tower is a desktop computer built around a 3rd Gen Intel Core i5-3470 quad-core processor running at 3.20 GHz with a 3.60 GHz turbo boost. It ships with 8 GB of DDR3 memory, a 512 GB 2.5-inch SSD, and a 1 TB 3.5-inch hard drive. Windows 10 Pro 64-bit is pre-installed and a DVD±RW drive, USB keyboard, and USB mouse are included.

Upgrade from older office PCs

This system replaces ageing desktops that rely on mechanical hard drives and dual-core processors. The jump is worth it when daily workflows involve multiple browser tabs, office suites, and light media tasks that benefit from the SSD's responsiveness and the four processing threads. The 1 TB secondary drive adds bulk storage for archives without sacrificing boot speed.

Suits home office and student use

Buyers who need a ready-to-run Windows 10 Pro machine for document work, web research, and video playback will find the specification balanced. Users who require modern high-speed interfaces, discrete graphics for gaming or rendering, or memory beyond the 32 GB DDR3 ceiling should look at newer platform designs.

Questions about this item

What physical space is needed inside the case for the 2.5" 512 GB SSD and the 3.5" 1 TB hard drive?

The Mini Tower chassis provides dedicated bays for both a 2.5 inch SSD and a 3.5 inch hard drive, so no extra brackets or adapters are required.

Which screws or latches secure the side panel for access to the memory slots and drive bays?

The side panel uses thumbscrews at the rear; remove them, slide the panel toward the back, then lift it away to reach the DDR3 slots and drive cages.

How can the 8 GB of DDR3 memory be expanded later?

Four DDR3 DIMM slots are available; the system supports up to 32 GB total, so additional modules can be added in matching pairs.
