OptiPlex 9010 Mini Tower desktop

The OptiPlex 9010 Mini Tower is a business-class desktop built around a 3rd Gen Intel Core i7-3770 quad-core processor at 3.40 GHz. It ships with 8 GB of DDR3 memory, a 256 GB SSD and a 2 TB hard drive for combined fast boot and high-capacity storage. Windows 10 Pro is pre-installed and a USB keyboard and mouse are included.

Home office users and IT fleets

This system suits office workers, students and managed deployments that need a ready-to-run Windows 10 Pro PC with dual-drive storage and a DVD±RW drive. Buyers who want more storage or a discrete graphics card for 3D work should look at something else.

DDR3 memory on four full slots

The board provides four 240-pin DIMM slots, all occupied by the factory 8 GB DDR3 configuration. Any memory upgrade requires replacing the existing modules, so confirm the required capacity before purchase.

Questions about this item

Does the i7-3770 3.40 GHz CPU throttle under sustained load with the Mini Tower cooler?

The 3rd Gen Intel Quad Core i7-3770 3.40 GHz runs within its thermal design using the Mini Tower air cooler; sustained workloads stay at base frequency unless ambient temperatures are extreme.

How loud is the system and what power does it draw when running all day?

The OptiPlex 9010 Mini Tower uses a standard desktop fan profile — quiet at idle, audible under full CPU load — and draws typical 3rd Gen quad-core power through the internal PSU.

The specs show 0/4 DDR3 slots free — what memory must I already have to expand?

All four DIMM 240-pin slots are occupied by 2 GB modules; adding capacity means removing existing DDR3 sticks and replacing them with higher-density DDR3 kits.
