Refurbished Latitude 5480 for business users

This refurbished Dell Latitude 5480 is a 14.0-inch business notebook running Windows 10 Pro 64-bit. It uses a dual-core Intel Core i5-7300U processor with 3 MB L3 cache and Intel HD Graphics 620. The system includes 8 GB of memory and a 256 GB SSD.

Suits mobile office work.

The FHD 1920 x 1080 non-touch display and integrated graphics handle documents, web apps and video calls. Buyers who want more storage, a dedicated GPU, a touchscreen or a backlit keyboard should look at other models. The dual-core CPU limits sustained multi-threaded workloads.

256 GB SSD and 8 GB RAM with 16 GB ceiling

The 256 GB solid-state drive provides fast boot and application loading for typical office datasets. Memory uses two slots and supports up to 16 GB total, so a future upgrade can double capacity. Integrated graphics share system memory, reducing available RAM during graphical tasks.

Questions about this item

Does the Intel Core i5-7300U need a separate graphics card to drive the 1920 x 1080 FHD panel?

No, the integrated Intel HD Graphics 620 drives the built-in 1920 x 1080 display and can also feed an external monitor through the HDMI port without a discrete GPU.

Will the 10/100/1000Mbps LAN port negotiate down to 100Mbps if my older switch only supports Fast Ethernet?

Yes, the Gigabit Ethernet controller auto-negotiates and will operate at 100Mbps on legacy switches while still providing a wired connection.

How can I confirm the 8GB memory and 256GB SSD are both recognised after first boot?

Open Task Manager’s Performance tab to see 8GB RAM and 256GB storage listed, and verify Windows 10 Pro 64-bit reports the same totals in Settings > System > About.
