3.84TB SATA enterprise SSD rated at 1.3 DWPD with 520 MB/s read and 480 MB/s write speeds plus end-to-end data protection
The Dell PM863a MZ7LM3T8HMLP0D3 is a 3.84TB 2.5in SATA III solid-state drive built for enterprise servers, storage arrays and cloud deployments. It delivers sustained sequential reads of 520 MB/s and writes of 480 MB/s with 1.3 DWPD endurance and a 2,000,000-hour MTBF. End-to-end data protection, power-loss protection and thermal monitoring protect data integrity in always-on environments.
This drive fits read-heavy applications such as backup targets, archiving tiers, analytics read pools and hyperscale object stores where 1.3 DWPD covers the duty cycle. It is not a fit for workloads that demand higher write endurance, such as heavy database redo logs, write-ahead journals or continuous high-rate ingest pipelines that would exceed the rated DWPD.
The 2.5in SATA form factor drops into any compatible drive bay or hot-swap tray using standard SATA data and power cables. Ensure the operating system aligns partitions to 4 KiB boundaries and enable AHCI or the appropriate RAID mode in firmware. The most common issue is forgetting to enable the drive's power-loss protection capacitor health monitoring in the management software, which can leave silent data-loss risk undetected.

The drive fits a standard 2.5" bay and connects via SATA III 6Gb/s, so any server or array with that bay type and controller will accept it directly.
On a SATA II 3Gb/s backplane the drive will still work, but sequential reads and writes will cap at the 3Gb/s link rate instead of the rated 520 MB/s and 480 MB/s.
Monitor the SMART attribute for total bytes written; it should remain well below the 1.3 drive-writes-per-day threshold for the 3.84TB capacity over the warranty period.
