1U rack server with Xeon E5-2630v3, 8GB DDR4, three 1TB SATA drives and H330 RAID controller
Installed Memory Size 8GB
HDD 3 x 1TB
The Dell PowerEdge R430 is a 1U rack server built for dense compute environments. It ships with a single Intel Xeon E5-2630v3 eight-core processor at 2.4GHz and 8GB of DDR4 memory. Three 1TB 7.2K SATA drives and a PERC H330 RAID controller provide internal storage. Remote management is handled by iDRAC8 Express.
Redundant hot-swap 550W power supplies maintain uptime during a module failure. The 1U chassis uses high-speed fans to move air across the CPU and drive bays. Acoustic output rises with inlet temperature and workload intensity. Power draw scales with the number of installed drives and a second processor if added.
Under continuous load the cooling system runs at elevated fan speeds to keep component temperatures within specification. The H330 controller sustains RAID 0, 1, 5, 10, 50 or 60 throughput across the three installed drives. Memory bandwidth is limited to the single-processor configuration and the 8GB installed capacity. A second Xeon can be added to double thread count and memory channels.

Align the notches on the CPU with the socket keys, lower it straight down without pressure, then close the retention lever until it clicks; the single installed processor occupies socket CPU1, and a second Xeon can be added later in socket CPU2.
The 8 GB DDR4 installed today uses one of 12 slots; each slot accepts 4 GB, 8 GB, 16 GB or 32 GB DDR4 up to 2400 MT/s, and total capacity can reach 384 GB when all slots are populated with matched pairs per processor.
With one 550 W supply fitted, the chassis power budget is capped at 550 W; adding a second hot-swap 550 W unit enables full redundancy and removes that ceiling for heavier CPU, memory or eight-drive configurations.
