1U rack server with dual Xeon E5-2603 v3 CPUs, 16 GB DDR4, three 1.2 TB SAS drives and H330 RAID controller
Installed Memory Size 16GB
HDD 3 x 1.2TB
This 1U rack server ships with dual Intel Xeon E5-2603 v3 six-core processors running at 1.6 GHz and 16 GB of DDR4 memory. Three 1.2 TB SAS hard drives at 7.2K rpm are installed behind the hot-plug front bays. A PERC H330 RAID controller supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 10, 50 and 60. A single 550 W redundant power supply and a DVD-ROM drive complete the base configuration.
The eight 2.5-inch drive bays and twelve DDR4 DIMM slots give room to grow storage and memory up to the platform limits. Four onboard 1 GbE ports and two PCIe 3.0 slots handle typical networking and add-in cards. Remote management is provided by iDRAC8 Express with an upgrade path to Enterprise. Organisations that need 10 GbE connectivity, GPU compute or more than two processors will need a different chassis.
The two six-core CPUs and the installed 16 GB of DDR4 set the baseline performance for multi-threaded workloads. Memory can be expanded to 384 GB using the twelve available slots with 4 GB, 8 GB, 16 GB or 32 GB DDR4 modules up to 2400 MT/s. This processor and memory combination determines whether the server matches the intended application profile.

Other versions of this model
The server has 12 DIMM slots total, six per processor. With 16 GB installed, most slots remain open for adding DDR4 modules up to the 384 GB system maximum.
The dual E5-2603 v3 processors each have six cores at 1.6 GHz, while the three 1.2 TB SAS drives spin at 7.2 K RPM on a 6 Gbps interface, so compute or I/O can bottleneck depending on workload.
A 1U rack server with dual CPUs, three spinning drives and a single 550 W power supply will run warm and audible; expect continuous fan noise and heat output typical for dense 1U systems.
