A 1U rack server with a quad-core Xeon E5-2637 V3 at 3.5GHz, 32GB DDR4, two 1TB 7.2K SATA drives and an H330 RAID controller
The Dell PowerEdge R630 fits a single Intel Xeon E5-2637 V3 quad-core processor running at 3.5 GHz with 32 GB of DDR4 memory in a 1U chassis. It ships with two 1 TB 7.2K SATA drives managed by a PERC H330 RAID controller supporting levels 0, 1, 5, 10, 50 and 60. This configuration suits workloads that need moderate core count and internal redundancy in minimal rack space.
Redundant 750 W power supplies share the load and allow one unit to fail without downtime. The 1U form factor uses high-speed internal fans to move air front-to-back across the CPU, memory and drive bays. Under typical utilisation the power draw stays within the capacity of a single supply, keeping the second in reserve. Fan noise is noticeable in quiet rooms but normal for a dense rack server.
The chassis accepts up to eight hot-plug 2.5-inch SAS or SATA drives, leaving six bays free for future expansion. Three PCIe 3.0 slots plus a dedicated PERC slot support additional network or storage adapters. A daughter card provides four 1 GbE ports with optional 10 GbE upgrades. iDRAC8 Express enables remote management out of the box. No operating system is included.

Fit the CPU into the second socket, apply the heat-sink retention bracket evenly, then populate the matching 12 DIMM slots with DDR4 modules; the step most often missed is installing memory for the new processor so the system can boot.
The two 750 W redundant power supplies and the 7.2 K 1 TB SATA drives are the mechanical parts most likely to require replacement after extended use.
With a single 3.5 GHz quad-core Xeon and 32 GB DDR4 installed, the CPU cores reach full utilisation before the memory capacity or H330 controller bandwidth become constrained.
