2U rack server with dual Xeon E5-2620 v3 2.4 GHz processors, 128 GB DDR4, PERC H730 controller, and twenty-four 300 GB SAS drives
Installed Memory Size 128GB
HDD 24 x 300GB 10K SAS
The Dell PowerEdge R730xd is a 2U rack server fitted with twenty-four 2.5-inch drive bays, dual 6-core Xeon processors at 2.4 GHz, 128 GB of DDR4 memory and a PERC H730 RAID controller. It ships with 24 enterprise 300 GB 10K SAS drives, quad-port networking including two 10 Gb SFP+ ports, iDRAC8 Enterprise remote management, redundant 750 W platinum power supplies, rails and bezel.
This configuration suits workloads that demand high spindle count in a compact chassis such as databases, virtual desktop infrastructure or data-node duties. Buyers who need solid-state performance or a different drive protocol should look elsewhere, as every bay is occupied by mechanical SAS drives. The two installed processors already reach the board maximum, so no CPU expansion is possible.
The storage subsystem delivers 24 bays of 300 GB 10K SAS drives behind a PERC H730 controller with 1 GB cache supporting RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60. This density and RAID flexibility determine whether the server matches a given capacity and redundancy plan.

Other versions of this model
The server is a 2U rack unit that ships with ready rails for standard square-hole racks; verify your cabinet depth can accommodate the chassis and cabling.
Yes, the H730 supports SAS and SATA drives in the same chassis; you can add larger drives to the remaining bays and configure separate virtual disks for each workload.
During POST the BIOS will display 128 GB of memory and two 6-core processors at 2.4 GHz; iDRAC8 Enterprise also shows the full inventory in its System Overview page.
