2U rack server with 24 2.5-inch bays, dual 10-core Xeon 2.6 GHz CPUs, 64 GB DDR4, H730 RAID controller and dual 300 GB SAS drives
Installed Memory Size 64GB
HDD 2 x 300GB 10K SAS
The Dell PowerEdge R730xd fits twenty-four 2.5-inch drives in a 2U chassis, providing dense local storage for data-intensive workloads. Dual Xeon E5-2660 v3 processors deliver twenty total cores at 2.6 GHz, with a 3.3 GHz turbo frequency. Sixty-four gigabytes of DDR4 registered ECC memory and a PERC H730 controller with 1 GB cache support RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60. Redundant 750 W platinum power supplies and iDRAC8 Enterprise remote management complete the platform.
This configuration serves environments that need many drive bays and dual-socket compute in a compact rack footprint, such as virtual desktop infrastructure, data warehousing or HPC data nodes. The quad-port network daughter card supplies two 1 GbE and two 10 Gb SFP+ links for flexible connectivity. Buyers who need more than two processors, more than 1.5 TB of memory, or a different drive form factor should evaluate other platforms.
The installed PERC H730 mini controller manages the twenty-four SAS or SATA bays and the two included 300 GB 10 K SAS drives. It provides hardware RAID levels 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 plus pass-through mode, with a 1 GB battery-backed cache. This controller determines which drive types and RAID topologies are available, so verify that its feature set matches the storage layout you plan to deploy.

Other versions of this model
The board has 24 DDR4 slots and supports up to 1.5TB of registered ECC memory when all slots are filled with compatible modules.
The H730 handles RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 plus pass-through mode, with a 1GB cache backed by a battery for write protection.
It includes ReadyRails sliding rails and a front bezel, so the 2U chassis mounts directly into a four-post rack without extra hardware.
