A 5U rack server with dual 14-core Xeon processors at 2.0 GHz, 64 GB DDR4 memory, a PERC HBA330 controller, and sixteen 2.5-inch drive bays
The Dell PowerEdge T430 is a 5U tower server that supports dual Intel Xeon E5-2600 v4 processors and sixteen 2.5-inch hot-swap drive bays. It ships with two 14-core Xeon E5-2660 v4 CPUs running at 2.0GHz with 3.2GHz turbo and 64GB of DDR4-2400 ECC registered memory. The system includes a PERC HBA330 storage controller, dual gigabit Ethernet and iDRAC 8 Express remote management. It targets businesses running virtualization, databases or file storage workloads.
The installed PERC HBA330 controller provides 12Gb/s SAS and SATA connectivity to the sixteen drive bays without RAID functionality. This host bus adapter passes drives directly to the operating system for software-defined storage or JBOD configurations. Buyers who need hardware RAID levels such as RAID 5 or RAID 6 must source a compatible PERC RAID controller separately. The chassis accepts SAS, SATA and SSD media in 2.5-inch form factor only.
Two Xeon E5-2660 v4 processors are installed in the dual LGA 2011 sockets, reaching the maximum supported CPU count of two. Each processor delivers fourteen cores at 2.0GHz base frequency with 3.2GHz turbo capability. The memory subsystem uses four 16GB DDR4-2400 ECC RDIMMs across twelve available slots, leaving eight slots open for expansion up to 384GB total capacity. This CPU and memory configuration is fixed at the point of purchase.

The server arrives with 64GB installed as four 16GB DDR4-2400 ECC registered modules, leaving eight empty slots for expansion up to the 384GB maximum.
Fourteen cores per processor at 2.0GHz base with 3.2GHz turbo give strong multi-threaded throughput for virtualization, databases and business applications.
The HBA330 provides 12Gb/s SAS and SATA connectivity to all sixteen hot-swap bays without RAID functionality, so each drive runs at its native SAS or SATA speed.
