Precision 5530 mobile workstation

The Dell Precision 5530 is a 15.6-inch mobile workstation with a UHD 3840 x 2160 IPS touchscreen. It runs on a 6-core Intel Core i7-8850H processor at 2.60 GHz with Turbo up to 4.30 GHz. The system includes 16 GB DDR4 RAM, a 256 GB M.2 drive plus 1 TB SSD, and an NVIDIA Quadro P1000 with 4 GB GDDR5 video memory. Windows 11 Pro is installed.

Who this suits and who should look elsewhere

This workstation suits professionals who need a colour-accurate touch display and certified Quadro graphics for CAD or 3D applications. The Thunderbolt 3 and HDMI 2.0 ports support external monitors and docks. Buyers who need more than 16 GB RAM or a higher-wattage GPU for heavy rendering should consider other configurations. The 72 % colour gamut may not meet strict print-proofing requirements.

Deciding specification: 3840 x 2160 touch display

The 15.6-inch 3840 x 2160 IPS touchscreen is the specification that determines fit. It delivers four times the pixel count of Full HD and supports direct pen or finger input on a 72 % gamut panel. If your workflow relies on high-resolution touch interaction or precise colour preview, this display justifies the chassis. If you only need standard office resolution, a lower-spec panel will reduce cost and power draw.
