Precision mobile workstation

The Dell Precision 5530 is a 15.6-inch mobile workstation with a UHD 3840 x 2160 touch display and IPS panel. It runs on an 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8850H six-core processor at 2.60 GHz with Turbo up to 4.30 GHz. NVIDIA Quadro P1000 graphics with 4GB GDDR5 drive professional applications. The system ships with 16GB DDR4 RAM, 128GB M.2 storage plus 1TB SSD, and Windows 11 Pro installed.

Upgrading from integrated graphics

This configuration replaces laptops that rely on integrated graphics for CAD, 3D modelling or video editing workloads. The dedicated Quadro P1000 and hexa-core CPU make the jump worthwhile when ISV-certified drivers and colour-accurate output are required. Thunderbolt 3 and HDMI 2.0 support external displays and high-speed peripherals. Buyers who need more than 16GB RAM or multiple GPU configurations should consider other models.

Straightforward deployment

The laptop arrives with Windows 11 Pro pre-installed and a Dell AC adapter included, so it is ready to join a managed fleet after standard imaging. Dual-fan thermal design sustains performance under sustained loads. Thunderbolt 3 uses a USB-C connector that also carries DisplayPort and power delivery; verify cable certification for 40 Gbps links. The 128GB M.2 drive appears as a separate volume — plan partitioning before deploying disk encryption.
