Dell Precision 5570 mobile workstation

The Dell Precision 5570 is a 15.6 inch mobile workstation running Windows 11 Pro. It pairs a 12th Generation Intel Core i9 processor with an NVIDIA RTX A1000 discrete GPU. The 1920 x 1080 Full HD display is non-touch and LED backlit. The system ships with 8 GB of memory and a 128 GB M.2 SSD.

Upgrading from integrated graphics

Moving to the RTX A1000 adds dedicated graphics memory for CAD, rendering and GPU-accelerated applications. The 12th Generation Core i9 raises multi-core throughput over prior-generation mobile i7 or i9 chips. The jump is worthwhile when your current laptop throttles under sustained workloads or lacks ISV-certified drivers.

Suited for engineers and designers needing

This configuration fits professionals who rely on ISV-certified drivers and a colour-accurate Full HD panel. Buyers who need more than 8 GB of memory or larger storage out of the box should look elsewhere. The Fair cosmetic grade means visible wear on the chassis and possible minor screen imperfections.

Questions about this item

Does the 15.6-inch chassis have a second SODIMM slot free for adding memory?

The laptop has two memory slots in total with 8 GB already installed, so one slot remains open for an upgrade.

What is the first step when installing a second memory module, and what mistake do people make?

Remove the base cover, disconnect the battery connector, then insert the module at an angle until it clicks; the common error is skipping the battery disconnect.

Which components are most likely to need replacement after heavy daily use?

The 128 GB SSD and the 8 GB memory modules are the primary parts that may require replacement over time.
