Precision 5820 Tower workstation

The Dell Precision 5820 Tower is a mid-tower desktop workstation built around an Intel Xeon W-2225 four-core processor running at 4.1 GHz with a 4.6 GHz turbo frequency. It ships with Windows 11 Pro and targets professionals who need certified stability for compute-intensive workloads.

256 GB DDR4 ECC memory and 1 TB NVMe storage

The system arrives with 256 GB of registered ECC DDR4-2666 memory populated across eight slots, leaving no free DIMM sockets for expansion. A single 1 TB PCIe NVMe solid-state drive provides primary storage; the chassis supports additional drives but no mechanical disk is installed. The 950 W 80 Plus Gold power supply delivers headroom for the fitted Quadro P5000 graphics card.

Quadro P5000 16 GB GDDR5X under sustained load

The Nvidia Quadro P5000 with 16 GB of GDDR5X memory drives up to four DisplayPort monitors and is engineered for continuous rendering or simulation tasks rather than brief bursts. The 950 watt Gold-rated supply maintains stable delivery during extended compute sessions, while the tower form factor allows airflow to keep thermals controlled over long runs.

Questions about this item

Will the 256 GB DDR4 2666 MHz memory ceiling limit sustained rendering workloads?

The system is already populated to its 256 GB maximum with eight 32 GB registered ECC modules, so no further memory can be added for larger datasets.

How loud and hot does the 950 W 80 Plus Gold power supply get during all-day compute tasks?

The 950 watt 80 Plus Gold unit runs at 90 percent efficiency, reducing waste heat and fan noise compared with lower-rated supplies under continuous load.

Which display cables do I need for the Quadro P5000's four DisplayPort outputs?

The card provides four DisplayPort connectors, so you must supply four DisplayPort cables or appropriate adapters for your monitors.
