Workstation for multi-threaded workloads

The Dell Precision 5820 Tower is a new mid-tower desktop built around an Intel Xeon W-2255 processor with 10 cores running at 3.7 GHz and a 4.7 GHz turbo frequency. It ships with 64 GB of DDR4 2933 MHz registered ECC memory across four 16 GB modules and a 1 TB PCIe NVMe solid-state drive. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed and digitally activated for immediate deployment in professional environments.

ECC memory capacity for data integrity

The system provides 64 GB of DDR4 2933 MHz registered ECC memory installed in four of eight available slots, with the platform supporting up to 256 GB total. This configuration suits workloads that require error-correcting memory to prevent silent data corruption during extended compute tasks. Buyers who need more than 64 GB at purchase should verify upgrade paths before ordering.

950 W Gold power supply for sustained loads

A 950 W 80 Plus Gold certified power supply rated at 90 percent efficiency delivers stable power to the Xeon processor and Nvidia Quadro P4000 graphics card with 8 GB GDDR5 memory. The unit is designed to maintain low acoustic output under typical workstation loads while providing headroom for the 10-core CPU and professional GPU during rendering or simulation tasks.

Questions about this item

How does the 10-core Xeon W-2255 perform when all cores are loaded in this workstation?

The W-2255 runs at 3.7 GHz base with a 4.7 GHz turbo; sustained all-core speeds depend on the 950 W power supply and tower cooling.

What display outputs does the Quadro P4000 provide and what resolution limits apply?

The card has four DisplayPort connectors; maximum resolution per port follows the DisplayPort standard supported by the GPU.

Will a full-length, dual-slot graphics card fit in the Precision 5820 tower?

The mid-tower chassis accepts full-length, dual-slot cards; the 950 W supply provides auxiliary power for high-end GPUs.
