Precision 5820 Tower workstation

The Dell Precision 5820 Tower is a mid-tower desktop built around an Intel Xeon W-2225 four-core processor running at 4.1GHz with a 4.6GHz turbo frequency. It ships with 64GB of DDR4 2666MHz registered ECC memory across four slots and a 1TB PCIe NVMe solid-state drive. The Nvidia Quadro RTX 5000 graphics card provides 16GB of GDDR6 memory and four DisplayPort 1.4 outputs plus VirtualLink. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed for professional workloads.

Compatibility checks before ordering

Verify that your workflow benefits from registered ECC DDR4 memory, as the four installed 16GB modules occupy half of the eight available slots and the platform supports up to 256GB total. Confirm that the LGA 2066 socket and 950-watt 80 Plus Gold power supply meet the electrical and thermal requirements of your intended expansion cards. Ensure your display devices can connect via DisplayPort 1.4 or VirtualLink, as no other video outputs are present on the graphics card.

Sustained-load behaviour

The 950-watt 80 Plus Gold certified power supply is rated for 90% efficiency, helping maintain stable voltage delivery during extended compute or rendering sessions. The Xeon W-2225 and Quadro RTX 5000 are cooled by the tower chassis airflow design, which is engineered for continuous operation in professional environments. Registered ECC memory adds data integrity protection that becomes valuable during long-running calculations or large dataset processing.
