Workstation laptop for mobile professionals

The Dell Precision 7670 combines a 12th Gen Intel Core i7-12850HX processor with an NVIDIA RTX A3000 12GB GDDR6 GPU. It provides 64GB DDR5 memory and a 4TB RAID 0 array built from two 2TB PCIe SSDs. The 16.0 inch WUXGA display runs at 60Hz and is aimed at engineers and creators who need certified stability on the move.

Upgrade from integrated graphics or smaller storage

The dedicated RTX A3000 replaces integrated solutions for CAD, rendering and simulation workloads that exceed shared-memory limits. The 4TB RAID 0 volume replaces single-drive configurations when project datasets outgrow 2TB and sequential throughput matters. The jump is worth it when both GPU compute and storage bandwidth become daily bottlenecks.

Sustained load with dual Thunderbolt 4

Under continuous compute the 240W power supply feeds the CPU up to 4.8 GHz turbo while the 6-cell 92 WHr battery supports untethered sessions. Two Thunderbolt 4 ports maintain full PCIe bandwidth for external GPUs or storage during long renders. Wifi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 keep network latency low without throttling the thermal envelope.

Questions about this item

What are the dimensions and weight of the Dell Precision 7670?

The laptop measures 16.0 inches diagonally and weighs 5.75lb. The 240W power supply and 6-cell 92 WHr battery are included.

How do I install the operating system on the RAID 0 array, and what step is often missed?

Windows 10 Pro is pre-installed on the 2x2TB PCIe SSD RAID 0 array. The step often missed is ensuring the Intel VMD controller drivers are loaded during any clean reinstall so the installer sees the combined 4TB volume.

When will the 92 WHr battery need replacement, and what spec must the new unit match?

The 6-cell 92 WHr battery typically lasts 2-3 years before capacity drops below 80 percent. Any replacement must be a Dell 6-cell 92 WHr pack compatible with the Precision 7670 chassis.
